This is perhaps the best place to get a good, resourceful answer as to where I might find a free Web-based Polish to English translator?

There is no such thing as a good web-based translator, but since that's not what you asked, poltran.com exists. It is better, of course, to just learn Polish.

I don't exactly speak Japanese, certainly not well enough to say "I speak Japanese" to people, anyway...

My grandparents were from Poland, so I know a little, yeah.
