Do you prefer subtitles be left on or off when playing Silent Hill?
I always opt on the subtitles. Most of my reasoning is it takes away from the reality/immersion effect. When I have a conversation with someone, small, white text does not appear under the person speaking, so I would not expect it in Silent Hill either.
You are generally right, but I prefer to have subtitles. Of course it takes some effect of reality, but if I wouldn't be able to hear sth. what sb. in game told I can read the subtitle and read it or, if I still don't know what does it mean I can find it in dictionary. So I prefer to have it on.
